Survivors GuiltĀ

2/11/2015

I had an interesting conversation with online friends about survivors guilt. The question posed was "how do you feel when you read or hear about someone who has "lost" their battle with Cancer?" I know myself I ask the same questions I asked when I got Cancer, "why me"! Why am I still here and that wonderful young mother of 2 has become a cancer angel? Why am I still here and that beautiful little boy will never play baseball?

Interesting topic and a hard one for all us to deal with, except to be  comfortable in the fact that we  are still here and to live each day fully. Most important though, always remember and honor those who have gone before you. How do you feel?

A day in the Life of a Surviving Cancer Patient

Today is World Cancer Day. I am a 4 time Cancer survivor. Some people call me a Cancer fighter. There are days when I look in the mirror and I remember the battles as I see my “battle scars”. But the fight is not beyond me, I will keep on fighting, I do not know what tomorrow will be bring but I am determined to make everyday a good day.

I am not the person I was before chemo, I am a new and improved individual.  I improve more each day. I woke up this morning hearing my granddaughter  say have a wonderful day! I keep these words in my mind to help me move through my day.  What do you use to help you get through the day?

Please submit your answers to The Next Birthday Project a “journey to conquer, rejoice and remember the faces affected by cancer”.
